The Pediatric Proximal Femoral Nail, PediFIN® centers on general intramedullary nailing principles and reshaping for pediatric use. The nail is designed specifically to comply with pediatric proximal femur anatomy. PediFIN® aims to maximize stability over the fracture or osteotomy.

Anatomic reduction
PediFIN® follows minimally invasive fixation principles. It supports soft tissue protection and faster recovery and the unique design on the proximal part of the nail is a precise match for pediatric patients, allowing for optimal positioning during osteotomies.

Stability fixation
The geometric nail design and positioning of the locking screws are positioned to ensure maximum stability. While one of the proximal screws are positioned on the femur neck, the other is placed on the calcar bone. The hexagonal shape of the proximal part of the nail  increases rotational stability and reduces load on the locking screws.

Preserving vascularity
The cycle over the periosteal is preserved and will positively affect bone healing.

Early weight bearing
Achieved stability within the nailing system provides early mobility on normal and disabled children.
